  1. Managed the acquisition of a US$ 5million loan to finance strategic capital infrastructure.
  2. ⁠Successful turnaround of sales and credit management processes to enhance working capital hence I was able to bring down debts from over 60 days to average 15-day sales outstanding.
  3. ⁠Strategic restructuring and turnaround of a group from a US$ 14 million loss to breakeven. The process included revenue growth, cost rationalization, performance management and financial controls.
  4. Successful procurement and implementation of Sage Evolution ERP.
  5. ⁠Headed the set up and implementation of a regional group shared service Centre.

Amos Kimebur

Amos Kimebur is an accomplished Finance and Administration professional with over 23 years of progressive leadership experience spanning the international not-for-profit, research, agriculture, telecommunications, FMCG and insurance sectors across Sub-Saharan Africa. He has consistently delivered results in managing complex, multi-donor and multi-currency programs, with a strong emphasis on financial planning and reporting, compliance, risk management, administrative leadership and operational optimization. He has successfully led financial operations in over 20 countries, managing multi-donor portfolios in excess of US$300 million cumulatively.

He possesses in-depth knowledge of diverse financial reporting standards, including IFRS (both standalone and consolidated), UK SORP and US GAAP (Form 990). His broad expertise covers the entire financial management spectrum, from budgeting and cash flow management to donor reporting, auditing, grant administration and the integration of management information systems. Amos has successfully spearheaded financial transformations and institutionalized robust internal controls within organizations with both national and international footprints, particularly in the research, technology transfer, agriculture and social impact areas. He has played a central role in restructuring finance departments, integrating multi-country operations and leading business process reengineering initiatives.

Known for his strategic insight and practical leadership, Amos has also supported the incubation of start-ups and for-profit social enterprises, playing a key role in establishing their financial frameworks and governance systems. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, am a CPA-K, and have an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT). With over 15 years of experience in financial and tax management, I have worked with organizations like the Kenya Revenue Authority, KenGen, Deloitte, and STRABAG International GmbH. As Corporate Finance Manager at KenGen, I focused on project financing, treasury management, and tax matters, enhancing my expertise in the energy sector.

My key achievements include:

  1. Reducing a company’s tax assessments by KShs 2.2 billion related to withholding tax and VAT.
  2. Lowering a withholding tax assessment from KShs 975 million to KShs 143 million and vacating a KShs 1.6 billion VAT assessment.
  3. Leading in change of tax laws such as exemption of compensating tax.
  4. Leading efforts to vacate KShs 2 billion in assessments (KShs 1.7 billion withholding tax and KShs 0.3 billion corporation tax).
  5. Reducing corporate income tax assessments in Tanzania from TShs 8 billion to TShs 600 million.
  6. Securing KShs 300 million in tax refunds in Kenya and Tanzania.
  7. Negotiating a two-year suspension of debt service a company’s loans and securing favourable refinancing rates.
